Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett is a Jiu Jitsu fighter from Liverpool, England. He will be making his UFC debut Saturday September, 4th at The UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Sporting a record of 16-3 and Paddy “The Baddy” is primed to be the next big European Star to come to the promotion following in the footsteps of fellow European fighters, Michael Bisping and Conor McGregor. Whether it’s his Beatle-esque haircut or his signature orange shorts Paddy has “star” written all over him and the UFC knows this and are putting all their advertising dollars behind the Liverpool native.
Paddy has a lot of hype to live up to and hopes to hush his critics when he steps into the Octagon on Saturday. The fighter who’s won three of his last four in European MMA promotion, Cage Warriors where he held the 145 pound title, hopes to put another win onto his record against Luigi Vendramini. “The Baddy” is a finisher and has won five fights by knockout and seven by submission. On Saturday he will definitely be looking for a finish and if it gets brought to the ground. Paddy comes in as a -165 favorite.
Paddy, who was offered a UFC contract twice before, almost had his bout canceled as he had Visa issues that came up due to the card being moved to Las Vegas as it was originally supposed to take place in England. If the card had taken place in England it would have been the Fight night card to take place outside of the UFC Apex or Fight Island, and would be the first card to return England since before the Covid-19 Pandemic
It’ll be interesting to see how Paddy “The Baddy” does Saturday and where his career takes him.
